Summary
Cutting across the time boundary my work is largely on the Nath Siddhas of the Western Himalayas and the role of relgion in the formation of the Western Himalayan state and society. I am interested in the shepherds of the Western Himalayas and the folklore of this geographical region as well. Besides, I am interested in understanding the dynamics of social and cultural transformation under the influence of the hegemonic forces, be that Hindu cultural ethos or the Colonial administrative intervention in this geographical area.
