Summary
Dr. Del Rio-Roberts is an Assistant Professor within the Institute for the Study of Human Service, Health, and Justice. She is also the Program Director for the new Masters of Science in Developmental Disabilities. Furthermore, she is a Licensed Florida Psychologist who specializes in developmental disabilities, clinical child psychology, infant mental health, and psychological evaluation. Dr. Del Rio-Roberts is also a supervisor of Psychology trainees (practicum students, interns, postdoctoral residents) at the Center for Assessment and Intervention (CAI). In addition, Dr. Del Rio-Roberts was the principal investigator on two university-based grants related to developmental disabilities in the areas of employment and transition with adolescents and young adults. She has also been the Co-Principal Investigator on several university based grants focused on the diagnostic agreement of several diagnostic measures (ADOS, CARS, GARS, ADI-R) used to diagnose ASD and well grants involving parent training and providing with veterans. Within the University, Dr. Del Rio-Roberts is a committee member on the university-based Interdisciplinary Council for the Study of Autism. In addition, she is a member of the Psychology Internship Training Program and is the liaison for the Post-Doctoral Residency Program for CAI as well. In the profession, she is a member of the American Psychological Association and National Association of School Psychologists. She is the author of The Playful Minds Coping Skills Program: A Treatment for Pediatric Oncology Patients and several articles related to qualitative research. In the community, Dr. Del Rio-Roberts has appeared as a consultant on several Spanish language television and radio programs on Univision. Dr. Del Rio-Roberts holds a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Psychology from Florida International University, a Master of Science (M.S.) in Psychology from Carlos Albizu University, and a Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) degree from Carlos Albizu University. She completed her Pre-Doctoral Internship at Miami Children’s Hospital where she participated in various clinics such as the Developmental Disabilities Clinic, Neuro-Developmental Clinic, Early Intervention Clinic, and Craniofacial Clinic among others. In addition, she completed her Post-Doctoral Residency at NSU providing services at the Center for Assessment and Intervention, Center for Psychological Studies, and the Dental Clinic.
