Summary
Our research focuses on bridging the gap between the life sciences and engineering by creating hypothesis driven technology. We specialize in developing and applying biosensors and nanosensors for investigating biological transport in a number of collaborative environmental, agricultural and biomedical research applications. Our lab also develops bioregenerative biotechnologies for sustainable water and energy reuse, and we apply nanomaterial-mediated sensors for investigating transport in these systems.
The sensors developed by our lab are used for investigating transport in single cells, tissues, and the organ/organism level. We use a variety of complimentary standard techniques in these studies of cell/tissue physiology.
