David Slakter
Summary
My interests are in Indian philosophy, particularly political and ethical traditions, and the political turn in the philosophy of religion. My most recent research focuses on the tension between sovereign power and dharma, and how this tension is addressed in the Mahabharata. I also intend to pursue research on Jayanta Bhatta's argument for toleration and how political dharma can inform contemporary discussions on the relationship between religion and the state.
