Summary
Andrea Boggio is an Associate Professor of Legal Studies and Legal Studies Coordinator at Bryant University, where he has taught since 2006. He taught previously at the Keele University's Centre for Professional Ethics (PEKA) in the UK. He completed his post-doc at the Institute of Biomedical Ethics of the University of Geneva (Switzerland) working on a project conducted in collaboration with the Department of Ethics, Trade and Human Rights at the World Health Organization. He holds a doctoral degree in law from Stanford University. He teaches and writes primarily in the areas of sociology of law, business law, and applied ethics. He is the author of Compensating Asbestos Victims: Law and the Dark Side of Industrialization (Ashgate, 2013) and editor (with Anna gatti) of Health and Development: Towards a Matrix Approach (Palgrave Macmillan, 2009). His writings also appear in such journals as Social and Legal Studies, Kennedy Institute of Ethics Journal, Health and Human Rights, International Journal of Human Rights, Human Reproduction, and elsewhere. He has given lectures at universities around the world, including the USA (George Washington University, Stanford Law School, and the National Human Genome Research Institute), Italy (the Università degli Studi di Milano-Bicocca, the Istituto Superiore di Sanità, and the Center for Nano Science and Technology@Polimi), Taiwan, Colombia, and Belgium. He was an Associate Editor and Peer Reviewer of The Global Studies Journal, Scientific Journals International, and the Journal of the World Universities Forum. He was a consultant for Stop TB, Génome Canada, the Université de Montréal, the Brocher Foundation, and the IReR - Istituto Regionale di Ricerca della Lombardia.
