Indian Democracy

India is the most populous democratic country in the world. The elections take place every 5 years. Currently its prime minister is Dr. Manmohan Singh and its president Mr. Pranab Mukherjee. India has the world's largest constitution. The country has three main central government parties: Congress, Bharatiya Janta Party (BJP), and Communist. At the state government levels, many parties stand for the election every five years.
